As a Chi Omega at the U. of Illinois, I earned an MA in Russian Literature, greaduating with honors, as a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the 1967 May Queen Court.

I work at keeping myself fit and attractive, watching my weight, using my home treadmill, and participating in water aerobics, yoga, and gyrokinesis.

I've taught Russian and ESL; been President of my tennis club, League of Women Voters of Sacramento, Carmichael Planning Commission, and the American River Parkway Foundation; and a part-time lobbyist at the Capitol for the California League of Women Voters.

My next career was as an environmental anaylst for Sacramento County, followed by 22 years as local government representative for SMUD (Sacramento Municipal Utility District).

Upon retiring in 2008, I switched from "left brain" to "right bain" activities. I now thoroughly enjoy singing alto in the 60-voice River City Choraleand serving as the Vice President of the Chorale.

Friends and I enjoy the Sacramento Philharmonic Orchesta and the stimulating speakers in the Sacramento Speakers series.

I have family and friends around the country and the world. I'd love to have a companion who'd like to share travel and new experiences with me. I have yet to visit Australia and Africa. When traveling to cities with nice restaurants and night life, I have more fun and feel safer with a man at my side!

Currently, I am helping to locate
"lost" high school classmates to let them know about plans for our 50th H.S. reunion (Maine West Class of "63,
Des Plaines, IL) in September, 2013.

My 4 grandchildren live in San Diego, with their curly blond mom (my daughter Tanya), and a full-blooded Japanese dad (born and raised in LA). Not that I'm bragging, but Kai, Kaeila, Kiana, and Kulani are strikingly beautiful, smart, talented,athletic, and well-bahaved progeny. Not wanting to miss any of their growth stages, I have visited them once a month for 12 years. Thanks to Southwest Airline's many flights between Sacramento and San Diego, I managed to be in the delivery room for the birth of all four of my grandchildren -- such a thrill!

As for television, I TIVO my favorite shows so I can watch them when I want to, fast-forwarding through commercials. Turner Classics and KVIE are my favorite channels. Good Wife, Castle, Modern Family,Saturday Night Live, and reruns
,of Friends, Golden Girls, Everybody Loves Raymond, and Mash are also on my TIVO playlist.

My iPhone has been invaluable when I travel. I download movies and books that I can access while travelling. The "Virtuoso" app lets me tap out my alto part as I'm learning River City Chorale music, and the "iTranslate" is helping to refresh my conversational Russian skills, prior to lmy Viking cruise on the Waaterways of the Czars in May 2013,
